The coalition came together during the COVID-19 pandemic to demand disaster relief and recovery for all workers in New Jersey. Half a million undocumented immigrants pay $1.1 billion in federal taxes and $600 million in state and local taxes yearly. Our work paid off, and after 18 months of fighting, Gov. Murphy announced 40 million to provide a one-time payment for excluded New Jerseyans. LWC participated in many actions to achieve these goals.
